Collagen is one of the main constituents of our skin. Located in the dermis, it is responsible for the resistance and integrity of the tissue. Collagen is a protein that serves as a key structural component of tissue, such as skin, bones, ligaments, etc. The dermis, the inner layer of the skin, contains large amounts of collagen, elastin and fibers which are responsilbe for your skin's strength, texture and elasticity.
